Sno-scoot seat pan installation instructions:

Below we have provided installation instructions for mounting the seat pan for sno-scoots. As these pans are hand made and most Sno-scoots are no longer perfect, these pans require that the mounting holes be drilled by the end user. If you follow our instructions, this procedure isn't tough, and typically only takes about 20 minutes to complete. Please take your time with this procedure and check twice before drilling holes, because holes can't be undrilled. If you have questions about any of the steps listed below, please give us a call or send us an email.

Step 1:

First, align a fender washer on the corner of the square bump on the bottom rear of the seat, as shown above, and make a mark with a marker. Drill the two holes shown above with a 3/16" drill bit. Next, take the included 5 mm diameter socket head cap bolts and insert them through the included rubber bumpers and then insert the bolts through the holes you drilled. On the top side of the seat, use one of the included fender washers and lock nuts on the top side of the seat pan. These bolts tightened further later on to make height adjustments.

Step 2:

Place the seat pan on your Sno-scoot and be certain that it pushed all the way forward on the machine and centered left to right. Mark the locator pin mouning holes using a marker. Be sure that your marker is perpendicular to the part of the seat pan that you are marking. This is vital as the location of these holes determines exactly where your seat fits. Before removing the pan from the machine, use the included seat pins to make sure the holes are marked in the correct location. Check that the holes are marked correctly a second, third, and fourth time. The location of the holes you are about to drill is vital.

Step 3:

Drill a 3/16", then 1/2" hole in the locations marked in step 2. Now install the included stainless seat studs, nuts, and washers as shown above. On the bottom of the seat, you will use both a nut and washer, but on the top of the seat pan, no washer will be used. Be sure to use red thread locker on the locator pin threads and tighten the studs and nuts.

Step 4:

Drill a 1/4" hole in the center of the rear seat latch mounting dimple as shown above, then use your seat latch as a guide to drill the hole in the other dimple. Then bolt in the seat latch (uses included 6mm bolts) and put a few of the included fender washers between the seat pan itself and the latch. You may have to use as many as 7 of the included fender washers as spacers. On the top of the seat pan, use one two of the remaining fender washers and the included nuts as shown above.

Step 5:

With the seat hardware all installed, install the pan on your Sno-scoot. You now have to adjust the seat latch and rubber bumpers. Your may have to unbolt the latch and put more or fewer washers under the latch itself. Also, adjust the tension on the bumpers to make sure that the seat pan doesn't bend too much when installed. This will take you a few mintues. When you have determined how many spacer washers are required for your seat latch, remove the lock nuts and put red thread locker on the bolt, and reinstall the nuts.
